May and June have been two months full of beautiful events for Save the Children Romania.
Some of them hosted the promotion of the educational values tackled by Eduglocal project.
The first event was NGO Fest and was organised by the Civil Society Development Foundation. Save the Children Romania was an active participant to this festival; for two days (May 9th-10th) the visitors of Herastrau Park, one of the largest in Bucharest, were informed on the objectives of Eduglocal, activities as well as the online resources provided for teachers and pupils. 30 volunteers trained by Andreea Hagiu, the project coordinator in Romania, offered information to over 600 people.
The second dissemination event was the National Children’s Forum which took place between May 29th and June 2nd in Bucharest, too.
Attended by 100 children and volunteers from all over Romania, the Forum tackled the issue of education with emphasis on access to education, quality of education and children participation to the decision-making process regarding public education.
The participants worked in groups and discussed problems they or other children confront with and proposed solutions to the public authorities – the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour and representatives of the Romanian Parliament.
